The GloCal Health Fellowship Program includes over 160 top-tier global health research faculty mentors from UCSF, UCSD, UCLA, UCD, and from 20 renowned, international institutions. GloCal program faculty span a variety of disciplines including: anthropology, biology, chemistry, dentistry, economics, bioengineering, ethics, geography, law, medicine, molecular biology, nursing, oceanography, physics, political science, public health, sociology, statistics & biostatistics, and psychology. Each trainee will have with three mentors: one mentor from her/his affiliated UC institution with expertise in the trainee's research field, one mentor from the international collaborating institution where the trainee is carrying out his/her research, and a third “trans” mentor who is a senior investigator from a different field of expertise and/or a different geographic location than the mentee.
